Our Appreciation Dinner was held on October 27th at the Flint Elks Club in Grand Blanc. It was a great evening of celebration for the eleven Achievers who attended. We enjoyed pre-recorded video stories from those graduates unable to attend. The evening’s activities included our signature Dessert Auction (complete with our British auctioneer) and was enjoyed by many. Thanks to everyone who attended, sponsored, and contributed in any way to make this event a huge success. We appreciate you all!
As we close the year, we give thanks to our Lord, Jesus Christ for leading our organization and selecting the 27 men who have now become the 2016 Re-Connections Achiever’s Club. These men are breaking barriers and making in-roads to employment opportunities that were almost non-existent only a year ago. To date, 66% of the men have secured employment or are attending college and 85% have involvement with their Life Coach. We celebrate their accomplishments and though they may have road blocks and challenges ahead, we look forward to even greater success stories in their future.
In 2017, we will continue to expand and duplicate our program in an effort to meet the employment needs of post-incarcerated men in Genesee County. We will also begin applying for various grants as we have now collected a year of solid statistics. We continue to work alongside Catholic Charities and Ashlor Staffing, and thank them for their outstanding support. Class #7 will begin on January 18th and Achievement Day is scheduled for February 24th at 10:00 am. You are always welcome to attend. Please see the Events tab for more information.
Please keep in prayer:
The 27 Achievers as they move forward with employment, education, housing , and transportation needs
Our program needs; which include Life Coaches and Skills Trainers
Additional funding sources so that we may continue our outreach in Genesee County
All of us at Re-Connections wish you and your family a Merry Christmas and a journey-filled New Year!
Congratulations to our Class #6 graduates and newest members of the Achiever’s Club! Eight men participated in the Achievement Day events on October 21st and became our largest graduating class to date. We are proud of this new group of men who have joined the Re-Connections family.
